Upcoming Events:
November 21 - Fellowship meal 6:30 - 8:30 YUM!!!
November 23 - Thanksgiving Outreach at Maple Elementary School 10:30 - 1:00
December 10 - Youth Christmas Party and Camalot
This Thursday our church will be involved in a big outreach where thousands of people come and share a Thanksgiving meal. During this time they will hear stories of how Jesus has changed lives and is willing to change the life of anyone who lets him. In this blog post I wanted to provide some simple ways that you can tell people about Jesus as it may come in very handy this week.
First, pray. Ask the Lord the bring people who have open hearts and open ears to God. Also, pray that God will use you to draw someone closer to him. Prayer is always important because we live in a spiritual battle zone and Satan does not people to know about the greatness of God.
Second, be friendly. Learn the other person’s name, where they are from, what school they go to, what they like to do. In other words, build a friendship. Creating this small relationship will help open up this persons ears to what you have to say about Jesus.
Third, find someway to challenge this person to take action in the direction of faith. For some people it may be best to invite them to our church. Others may need to be challenged to read the book of Mark or John to understand and believe Jesus. Still, others may open up to you about sin in their life. Encourage them to act differently and get help if it is something they cannot control. When I use this method I usually try to challenge the person with two areas. Be creative with this because each person is unique. The three areas are Belonging, Believing, and Behaving. These are the ways that Jesus challenged people. As this Thursday approaches be prepared to see God work and pray that you can be apart of it.
